The whole world felt the impact of the pandemic economically, socially, and even mentally. everything and everyone took a pause like never before. some even thought the world was about to end and apparently few countries are still struggling to wave it behind, Nigeria inclusive. it’s safe to say Nigeria as a country is still in the phase of gradually working things back to normal when the #endsars protest which started peacefully got hijacked by hoodlums for the purpose of looting and other ill activities. according to most Nigerians, The past few weeks coupled with the pandemic have been a rollercoaster.

its okay to feel overwhelmed and unsettled but you must find a way to jump out this corner and bounce back to life, here are few tips that can help you get over the mental breakdown.

Practice dealing with stress;

Research has shown that it’s important to deal with stress, it calms your nerve more and helps you have a better lifestyle. Like it or not, stress is a part of life but Practicing ways to cope with it makes life better: Try exercise, take a nature walk, play with your pet or try journal writing as a stress reducer. Also, remember to smile and see the humor in life. Research shows that laughter can boost your immune system, ease pain, relax your body, and reduce stress.

Have a good support system;

having a good support system would enhance a good mental state, imagine when you have someone to who you can reveal all your worries and be sure of getting an honest reaction with your best interest at heart, isn’t that a nice feeling? ensure you intentionally carve a support system from family, friends.

Quiet your mind:

Try meditating, Mindfulness and/or prayer. Relaxation exercises and prayer can improve your state of mind and outlook on life. In fact, research shows that meditation may help you feel calm and enhance the effects of therapy.
