It was all shades of amazing on the 5th of March 2020 as SME100 Africa and 100Women.ng hosted the international women’s day conference in commemoration with the international women’s month globally. The theme this year was Each for Equal: Creating Opportunities & navigating the Challenges of the Female Economy

The conference had a record breaking attendance of over 450 amazing women, not to mention young stars from XXX School who also graced the occasion.

The event which took place at Terrakulture Arena in Victoria Island brought together successful entrepreneurs, established career women and young aspiring females from all walks of life. It also featured very insightful panel sessions.

The welcome address was delivered by the Representative of the First Lady of Lagos State: Mrs Otumine Nelson-Moore. 

The first Panel which featured Tosin Faniro- Dada Head Lagos Innovates (LSETF), Gloria Omereonye Divisionsal Exec Union Bank Nigeria and Brian Oji CEO Employed Africa highlighted the financial opportunities available to female entrepreneurs and how they could get access to finance.

The second panel which featured CEO BookingsAfric.com, Fade Ogunro, CEO trim Kitchen Nicole Chikwe, CEO Camara studios Yetunde Bababeko & CEO Sixth Sense Tope Olagbegi highlighted the unique roles of women in the creative space & how they could record and track growth.

The last panel which featured award winning actress Beverly Naya, Chief Marketing Officer Axa Mansard Jumoke Odunlanmi and CEO Exquisite Magazine discussed how women could position themselves to think equal, build smart & innovate for change.

Other key speakers present were Rasidaat Adebisi; Chief Client Officer Axa Mansard and Osaigbovo Omorogbe; Divisional Head SME banking Fidelity Bank

The conference also featured spoken words, exhibitions from empowered past victims of domestic & sexual violence, keynote presentations & networking opportunities.

The Executive Director of SME100 Africa Mr Charles Odii said “We are excited that we are able to empower, educate and inspire women through this event and we can’t wait to start our mentorship series. The industries include fashion, creative arts, marketing & communications, beauty, health & fitness, digital marketing to mention a few”

This year, the official Bank sponsor of the event was Union Bank of Nigeria who also celebrated women by launching Alpher Woman. Other partners were Axa Mansard & Fidelity Bank.
